Shall we improve website performance?

You may have noticed that some websites with large graphics load much slower than the others. The reason is not the dimensions of the images but actually the excessive file size of the pictures. And the fact is, the longer it takes for a website to load, the less chances you’ve got that your visitors will stay on your site. A qualified web designer with an extensive expertise will thoroughly check your website out to see if you’ve got too many large pictures which could hamper your website. In case you do, the easiest solution would be to reduce the image size by reducing the quality.

Flash animation will be a great add-on to your website, but, unfortunately, it will also slow down your website and thus, worsen its online performance. Having seen your animation several times, a customer can easily get tired of waiting each time when visiting your business website. Besides, nowadays most web designers keep from integrating flash on the websites to increase the rankings in the search engines.

Web page code. Check your code a few times just to know for definite it’s well written. The excessive comments in the code (if there any) should be removed to save a few Kb each time a visitor accesses your page.

Links. Make sure that you’ve got valid links on the website. If you have links to your web pages on external websites, it’s important to be sure these pages still exist. Very often names of the pages change and thus, cause emergence of the broken links. Besides, if you’ve got broken links on a website, search engines can penalize you. Whenever you add or replace web pages, insure that all the links work properly and open the right pages.

Design. The site can look like a million dollars with abundance of graphics and other attractive and costly design elements and yet, be out of favour of your visitors. Bear in mind that a goal of your website is provide a user-friendly and easily navigable website so that your visitors don’t get confused

Hosting. If you trimmed back the size of all images, graphics, animation and your HTML code looks fine, but still it takes ages to load your site, the problem may be with bad quality of your web host. Now you probably realize why free hosting is not a good solution. What you would need to run your site safely and securely is a reliable and trustworthy website hosting.
