The mistakes you should avoid whilst creating a website

26 July 2012

If you’ve got a website, there is a piece of information for you to consider first. A website has got to have useful information so that your visitors can use it to find the solutions to their possible problems. But it does happen quite often that before we actually find something decent we have to come across multiple poorly designed websites. Such websites display the products and services in an awful way with the only one evident thought in mind – to sell no matter what. People get sick of such websites and ultimately try to stay away from them. Blank websites with no explanations or any sort of advice usually repel hundreds of the Internet browsers who could actually become potential buyers. Convenience and uniqueness are those features which are usually searched and needed.

So here is the first thing to keep in mind. You create a website for people. It has to be useful and informational. Don’t make your visitors hunt for information. It should not be a hard job to find what is needed in the first place. Otherwise, your site and business itself can acquire a bad reputation. Don’t overcrowd your site with numerous links, bulky banners, animations, etc.If you want to establish yourself as a decent business, high quality content is what you need because quality information is exactly what people are looking for on the web.

Navigation system has to be top-rate if you’re interested in having a great website. There are just too many websites out there which are poorly navigable and thus, inconvenient for usage. A website doesn’t necessarily have to have fancy graphics or other irrelevant pictures. What it’s supposed to do is to present the content in the most favourable for the targeted audiences way. Simplicity is quite often a key.

Whilst planning website design, try to position yourself as a customer. Is your site easy to navigate? Does it match the search query? Is the content accurate on all web pages? Too many links on the site can confuse visitors so that they won’t even know where to click.

Give some reasons for your visitors to come back to your website. Show your personal uniqueness and business trustworthiness. The website shouldn’t look too formal and boring. And the last very important rule is to avoid spam messages. That’s the direct route to get banned and low-ranked in the search engines.
